Priorities

    • Build on literacy initiatives to ensure that students have the tools to learn to read by 3rd grade and teachers have the tools to teach them.

    • Ensure that students graduating from Oregon High Schools have the skills they need to succeed in whatever path they choose: work, military, training in a skilled trade, or college.

    • Fix Oregon’s broken funding model for K-12 schools so that students have access to the 21st-century education they deserve through college and beyond.

    • Make sure jurisdictions have the support needed to fully implement gun laws that are already in place, including our extreme risk protection law.

    • Enhance accountability for gun dealers and manufacturers.

    • Support community gun violence prevention and suicide prevention efforts so that we stop violence before it happens.

    • Increase the construction of entry-level family housing so families can afford to live and send their kids to school in the communities where they work.

    • Encourage sustainability standards for new construction so that as we build new housing we also build the resiliency and sustainability of our communities.

    • Develop transitional housing with robust wrap-around support that helps address the causes of homelessness, including mental health services and addiction and recovery treatment.

  • Wildfire Management: Support comprehensive strategies including proactive forest management to address the increasing severity of wildfires.

    Water Resources: Focus on sustainable water management, conservation efforts, and addressing industrial and agricultural pollution.

    Coastal Protection: Back measures to adapt to and mitigate ocean acidification and coastal erosion risks.

    Biodiversity: Promote protecting natural habitats, sustainable land-use practices, and addressing the root causes of biodiversity loss.

    Renewable Energy and Emission Reductions: Make regulations and tax credits for transitioning to renewable energy sources, electrification of transportation, and enhancing energy efficiency.

    Environmental Justice: Prioritize equitable environmental policies and involve marginalized communities in decision-making processes.

    • Enshrine abortion as a legal right in Oregon’s Constitution so every Oregonian has the right to choose is protected.

    • Increase accessibility to OB/GYN services across Oregon, ensuring comprehensive healthcare is within reach for all.

    • Ensure that every woman has access to contraceptives regardless of whether they’re insured or not.

    • Oppose any attacks that restrict personal autonomy and reproductive freedom.

    • Strengthen support for unions, empowering workers with the tools they need for fair wages, safe working conditions, and collective bargaining.

    • Equip Oregonians with the skills necessary to excel in unionized sectors, fostering a robust workforce that benefits from organized labor.

    • Advocate for policies that bolster the rights of workers, recognizing the crucial role unions play in building a more equitable and just society.

    • Advance initiatives for affordable healthcare, ensuring access to quality medical services for all Oregonians.

    • Empower individuals with the resources to navigate and afford healthcare, promoting a healthier and more resilient community.

    • Advocate for comprehensive healthcare reforms, addressing systemic issues to create a healthcare system that prioritizes affordability and inclusivity.

    • Fund mental health facilities for counties that allow people in crisis to receive quality mental health care.

    • Increase support services when people get housing so they stay housed.

    • Make pathways for people coming out of the criminal justice system to find jobs, housing, and receive healthcare to end the revolving door of incarceration.
